About the studio
Our story
Demenpreei opened on South William Street in 2019 after founder Síofra Ní Mhurchú spent a decade styling residential projects across Copenhagen, Oslo, and her native Dublin. The name blends old Irish and Nordic roots — a reminder that calm interiors can honour local character while borrowing the clarity of Scandinavian craft.
What began as a one-room consultation practice has grown into a team of four stylists, a colour specialist, and a network of Irish joiners and textile suppliers. We remain deliberately small so every client works directly with a senior stylist rather than being passed through a sales funnel.
How we work
Every engagement follows a simple rhythm: listen, measure, propose, refine. We do not arrive with a predetermined aesthetic or a catalogue of products to shift. Instead, we document your rooms, discuss daily routines, and build recommendations that respect both your taste and your budget.
Deliverables always include written specifications — paint codes, furniture dimensions, supplier links, and installation notes. You leave with a plan you can execute yourself, with a contractor, or with our optional sourcing support. Transparency is non-negotiable at every stage.
Design values
Light is our primary material. Dublin's latitude means long summer evenings and short winter days, so we prioritise reflective surfaces, layered lighting, and window treatments that filter rather than block. We favour natural fibres and solid timber because they age gracefully in humid coastal climates.
Sustainability informs sourcing decisions without becoming performative. We recommend refurbishment over replacement where quality allows, and we maintain a vetted list of second-hand dealers and reupholsterers across Leinster. Less waste, more longevity — that is the Nordic way adapted for Ireland.
The Dublin studio
Our ground-floor studio at 28 South William Street doubles as a consultation room and material library. Clients can touch wool throws, compare oak finishes, and review full-scale layout sketches before committing to on-site work. The space reflects our aesthetic: pale walls, linen curtains, and nothing that shouts for attention.
We welcome walk-in enquiries on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons, though appointments are preferred. Parking is limited in Dublin 2, so we encourage Luas or Dart travel where possible and can suggest nearby car parks for those driving from outside the city.
Who we serve
Our clients include first-time buyers overwhelmed by empty rooms, families needing practical layouts that survive daily life, and empty-nesters ready to reclaim spaces once dominated by children. We also assist letting agents and small landlords preparing properties for the Dublin rental market.
We do not undertake construction, plumbing, or electrical work. Our role is design guidance and styling specification — always in collaboration with qualified trades when structural changes are required. That boundary keeps our advice honest and our timelines realistic.
