Colour consultation
Why colour matters in Dublin homes
Irish light is soft, changeable, and often indirect. A shade that glows in a south-facing Copenhagen showroom can read flat or cold in a north-facing Dublin bedroom. Our colour consultations account for orientation, window size, existing flooring, and the quality of artificial lighting you use after dark.
We draw on Nordic traditions of muted, layered neutrals while respecting the warmth Irish homeowners often crave. The result is a coherent palette that connects rooms without forcing every wall into identical beige.
What the service includes
Each consultation begins with a review of your photographs or an on-site visit where we assess light at different times if scheduling allows. We then develop a room-by-room specification covering walls, ceilings, trim, and feature areas such as chimney breasts or built-in shelving.
You receive large-format painted swatches on card, digital codes for major Irish paint brands, and a written guide explaining finish choices — matt, eggshell, or satin — for each surface. One round of revisions is included within fourteen days of delivery.
Pricing
Colour consultation for up to three rooms costs €395. Additional rooms are €85 each. Whole-home palette planning for six or more rooms starts at €875 and includes trim continuity notes and exterior door guidance where relevant.
On-site visits within Dublin city and suburbs are included. Virtual consultations via video are available at €355 for three rooms, with swatches posted to your address for a €25 handling fee. Rush delivery within five business days adds twenty percent to the quoted fee.
Our palette approach
We organise colours in three layers: base neutrals that cover the majority of surfaces, mid-tones that add depth without dominating, and accent hues reserved for doors, niches, or a single feature wall. This structure prevents the common mistake of collecting too many competing shades.
Natural materials influence every recommendation. Oak floors pair differently with grey-greens than with ash; red brick fireplaces require careful balancing so walls neither clash nor disappear. We test every combination against your fixed elements before finalising.
Working with painters
Your specification is formatted for direct handoff to decorators. We list product names, codes, finishes, and approximate quantities based on standard ceiling heights. If your painter prefers a different brand, we can suggest equivalent matches from their preferred range.
We do not supervise on-site painting but offer a follow-up video call for €75 if you need clarification during the work. Many clients book this when tackling tricky areas such as panelling, sloped ceilings, or open-plan transitions between kitchen and living spaces.
